Limitations: Time, place and purpose.
First of all it is time. Most of the time due to irregular working hours or not having a schedule leads to time scheduling conflicts. So when one is free the other is busy. However, quite often, being busy is the in-fashion and is a new lifestyle as much as an excuse for being apathetic.
Secondly, due to the cramped, shared and socially uninviting households that most live in, it is difficult to invite someone not so close into our homes. Besides this and because playing music is generally considered a noisy affair, there are not many places ready to be converted to jam studios, practice rooms or recording studios. If not these would be one of the ideal places for inter-generational forums. And consequently, we have the new cafe’ culture at hand, where most forums take place over some branded coffee. Not very ideal for music though, as we couldn’t possibly take our instuments along with us.
