Nikita, performed in Bandos on the 8th of October 2009,at a private function of a visiting VIP. The duo performed live to a playback.
The band was accompanied by their Producer and Engineer.
My job was to configure and tune up the system to the requirements of the client, who wanted the sound tune to a particular taste.

“E’ku E’kee” – 1984‘s debut album launch was held in the Dhoshimeynaa Maalam of Dharubaaruge, on the 18th of August 2009. The project comprised of two sessions, one for invitees and VIPs and the rest for ticket holders.
Shiuz opened the event with an appealing repertoire. This event attracted a limited but niche audience, who seemed to appreciate originality.
Kula Yelo was held in Sultan Park on 7th August 2009. It was a small scale cozy event for the launch of the Kula Yellow album. Kula Yellow is the brain child of Ishantey with his own style of song writing that he has named “Dinba Music“.
The event also featured video premiers of Fa’thu, Fasylive, Traphic Jam, Trio.
Many artists played at the event lead by Shiuz. The main line up included: Shiuz, Faya, Adhuham and Sapey, joined in by the rest of the “Dinba” family.

SPEED was a product level music concert by Dhiraagu to relaunch their broadband internet packages. Trio, Mezzo and performed from 2030hrs till 0015hrs. The event was organized by Artline.
This was the first time that a proper monitor mixer was used to monitor the sound for the musicians on stage in Maldives, by a local company. We used a SPIRIT Monitor 2 on stage. [More]
Bounce was held on 22nd of November 2007 in Kuda Bandos. The event DJ Kina and DJ Gavin from Australia. Prior to this finale event they also conducted workshops.
I could here the difference in their samples – they were really good! Another difference that I’m beginning to notice with professional DJs is that the consistency in the levels of their mixing. My guess is that it’s not only in the recorded materials nor is it there metering alone, it’s a bit of everything and most importantly their critical listening ability. Once set, it remains like that.

DUST (Dhives Underground Sound Test) by Associated Future Artists of Dhivehi Underground (AFADU), was held in Kuda Bandos on the 3rd of August 2007.
It was a DJ event portraying the talents of quite a few DJs from Maldives. Unlike most other DJ events that I have witnessed here in the Maldives, I was able to sense of genre and individualism in each of the DJs, which was really cool. The DJs included Ammu, Manal, Manko, Muku and Cubu.
Overall, the turn out was good.

Jamming for the Islands was a concert organized to coincide with the worldwide Live Earth event held on 7th July 2007. A total of thirteen bands performed including Shiuz, Out-of-Doors, Ignorant Acoustics, 1984, 7th Floor, Amazon Jade, Zero Degree Atoll, Clef Band, Traphic Jam, Anil, Damned, Nothnegal.

Runway 2007 was held on the 8th of June 2007 at Alimas Carnival Stage. Organized by Pro Models, it was mainly a fashion event. Scores of Flair opened the night followed by Nic & Nicole performing between the fashion slots. 70′s Poster band featuring Thothi & Zara performed a contrasting repertoire and Fasy Live finished off the event with a rocking performance.

Unleashed Live was held at Kuda Bandos on the 3rd of June 2007. The four-girl vocal quartet performed a wide repertoire of hits. Two Maldivian DJs, DJ Vifaq and DJ Umar set the mood for the night and kept the crowd on their toes. The sound was tuned to maximize the thump necessary for such a repertoire.
