The official launching of the WARF submarine fibre-optic cable was held at Dharubaaruge on 15th March 2007 at 0930hrs. WARF Telecom International Pvt. Ltd. is a consortium comprising of Wataniya, Reliance Communications and Focus Infocomm. The event was organized by Think. Primary sound requirements were for a Speech Sound inclusive of a video presentation. The event was broadcast live on TVM and VOM.
After recitation of the Holy Qur’an, speeches were delivered by Mr. Ahmed Haleem (Chairman of WARF), Hon. Mohamed Saeed (Minister of Transport and Communications), Mr. John Earley (CTO of Wataniya Telecom Maldives), Mr. Salah Fahad Al-Sultan (Chairman of Wataniya Telecom Maldives), H. E. President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom (President of the Republic of Maldives) and Mr. Sobah Rasheed (Managing Director of Focus Infocomm).
I usually do not do speech sound but decided to help out Hambe by filling-in for him as this was a high profile event.
